Wild West Wedding at Stunning California Wedding Venue

Matt & Amanda’s wild west wedding at Merryman Station, a stunning California wedding venue, was an absolute party of a day!

The Details of the Day

These two lovebirds had to host a smaller wedding due to COVID, but luckily, their families & friends were still able to come from Minnesota to attend. And despite the pandemic going on around them they made the absolute best day ever out of it.

From Amanda’s custom-made, beautiful boho hat to the Frank Sinatra impersonator to a delicious menu of signature cocktails, Matt & Amanda put so much intention to the details and events of their day.

Amanda wore an amazing dress by Daughters of Simone, one of my favorite bridal designers, paired with her hat that was specifically made for her by Nicholson Hat Co.

A Unique Cocktail Hour

They wanted to focus their day on really getting to spend quality, fun time with their loved ones, which is totally the best part of having a wedding (unless you’re having a private elopement with no guests!). Many “traditional” weddings typically have a cocktail hour after the ceremony, and that’s when all the guests hang out & interact with the newlyweds. But Matt & Amanda didn’t think that was enough.

So instead of spending a lot of the day apart from each other and their families, Matt & Amanda chose to have cocktail hour before their ceremony!

They had a loooong time of just hanging out and being together before they tied the knot - playing giant Jenga, drinking, and having fun with their loved ones from out of town. Basically, their wedding day went like this: lots of hanging out & partying, the official stuff & the ceremony, and back to lots of hanging out. It was a dang good time to sum it up!

There were a few times on their wedding day that I kind of forgot I was there to work and not party with Matt & Amanda (even though they made sure I did that too)! The weddings I get to photograph are beautiful and fun, but the people I get to work with are the freaking best. Mr. & Mrs. Gibbs, thanks for making 10/10/20 a memorable day!
