Daughters of Simone: 2021 Sacred Heart Collection

I worked with an amazing team of creatives recently to photograph Daughters of Simone's 2021 collection, Sacred Hearts. We worked hard, played hard, and now a tiny little winery in Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico has my heart.

Daughters of Simone is a bohemian wedding dress designer owned by two sisters, Ash & Brit. I’ve gotten the chance to work with them on multiple occasions and every time it is such a huge honor. They design some of the most beautiful, unique boho dresses I’ve seen - nothing like any other bohemian wedding dresses in the industry. I actually photographed Brit’s newborn family photos recently as well - check out the session in their beautiful renovated bus (@somedrifters on Instagram)!

You need the right words to talk about this new Sacred Heart collection - words that only Ash & Brit can speak. So here’s a little bit about this new 2021 collection taken straight from their website:

“In 2019, shortly before our grandfather’s death, our family interviewed him for a legacy video we were creating. Prior to this, little had been disclosed to us about our Mexican lineage as assimilation into American culture had been deemed essential for most of his life. And so it was only during this interview with him that we learned of our history for the first time.

Daughters of Simone’s 2021 collection was born out of a deep desire to connect to our family’s ancestry, bloodline, and traditions. To connect with our great grandmother, who we did not know, and better understand and know our grandfather who we loved so much. This is ‘Sacred Heart.’”
