Yosemite Maternity Session | California Maternity Photographer

I got the pleasure of photographing Jillian & Gian in Yosemite National Park this past month and I am so thankful I did. Being a maternity photographer means I get to capture not only love stories between couples, but growing families in one of the most special seasons of their lives.

We seriously had the most perfect afternoon in Yosemite. These soon-to-be first time parents soaked it all in while we relaxed around the fire, ate from a charcuterie board, jammed out to Chris Stapleton, hung out at AutoCamp (see below!), and then adventured into Yosemite.

AutoCamp Yosemite

AutoCamp Yosemite is a collection of gorgeous mid-century airstreams, canvas tents, and cabins that you can stay in at Yosemite. Here’s how the website describes the AutoCamp experience:

“Experience California’s most iconic national park from the peaceful vantage point of our convenient location near the Yosemite entrance, surrounded by the beauty of the local forest. Our warm, inviting mid-century modern Clubhouse serves as an anchor for your exploration of this thrilling year-round location. Spend the day exploring the landscape with a hike, snowshoe trek, or climbing experience—or take things easy with a book by the pool.”

You can’t visit Yosemite without staying at AutoCamp - everything is so incredibly beautiful, cozy, and surrounded by the most amazing views! AutoCamp actually has multiple different destination locations, including Joshua Tree, Zion, Cape Cod, and more. So you can find the AutoCamp experience near you no matter where you are in the country!

Make sure to also check out Nicholson Hat Co., where Jillian got her beautiful hat she’s wearing in the last photos of the session!

This session is a perfect example of why you invest in a photographer. Documenting your story shouldn’t be something you have to check off the list, dread doing every year, and drag your husband along to (I know guys, having your photo taken isn’t the most fun). But it should be! Your photoshoot should be about who you are and what you mean to each other. You should look back on your images and remember the moments you enjoyed with each other. So I challenge you to plan a date, an adventure, or a weekend away. And I’ll just tag along for a few hours...I promise I’m a lot of fun to hang out with 😉
